Acting Out

Happy Saturday! I will keep this short as I'm headed to gyrokinesis class (11:00 class - I had to decline the early morning options this time:). I am hoping to finish my swatch portrait project this weekend (first posted about here). So far so good, although I may have to go pick up more fabric today. What are you up to this weekend?

Here is an outfit from last week. The acting out skirt is my favorite pencil skirt. I love the high-waist, the fit, and of course the beautiful ruching on the sides.

Cardigan: J. Crew Jackie
Skirt Anthropologie Acting Out
Necklace: Gift
Tights: Hue
Shoes: Indigo by Clarks Jungle Java Pump

  2. Kristin! OMG! Your last picture is too awesome :) You and Ben are getting good! Lovely locals. And your outfit is yummy. Love your colors. You should submit that last photo to Tara's contest. It is TDF! I'm jealous. That pose is very Anthro-like. I'm of to Anthropologie today :) see what shenanigans I can get myself into. Check out my Outfit later :) It's my Sweet Life skirt! Tell Ben He is such a great sport. You are a lucky girl.

  3. Loraine - Thanks! My class was great - now I'm ready to relax for the rest of the day:)

Gabby - Thank you! It's been really fun finding new locations for pictures. Have fun at Antrho! I can't wait to see what you find!

  4. Your pictures are awesome! You look great in that skirt, and your heels are fantastic!

I hear the workout went well, and I have to say you have me intrigued and slightly sad that my area doesn't have a class like gyrokinesis!

I have some very low expectations and conversely high hopes for the weekend. I have an expectation not to get out of my jammies unless I absolutely have to and high hopes this plan works out for me!

I can't wait to see you project!

  5. Yes!!! Your pics look straight out of the Anthro catalog. Lovely. That skirt is wonderful on you. Pencil skirts just seem to flatter everyone I've seen them on. The ruching though makes this one special.

I never heard of that class you took but glad it went well. To me it sounds like you did a lot of hip gyrations or you learned to make NYC street food. Would love to hear more.

  6. Minnesota Maven - Thank you:) Yes, the workout was great! I have been doing yoga for years, but had never even heard of gyrokinesis until a few months ago. So far, I really like it. Your weekend sounds great! I love PJ weekends:)

Betty Ray - Thank you so much! I'm so glad that the work we are putting into taking better photos is at least noticeable. I am so excited to get my SLR camera! Haha! Yes, gyrokinesis does sound really funny! I have been doing yoga for years and also did pilates for a bit last year, but gyrokinesis is new to me. Here is the class description: "An intense physical workout that's seemingly gentle in execution leaves your body feeling like it just had a full body massage. The class starts on a stool and progresses to the floor for more hip, back, and abdominal work to create a fluid connection to body and breathe". Sounds pretty good, right? After class, I feel both sore/tired (like I worked my muscles really well) and open/flexible. It's great!

  8. Hi Kristin, I have that skirt too and I adore it, looks super lovely on you. And you are getting to be so good in front of the camera! I'm so proud of you. I lack the confidence and kahunas so I really admire your spunk! I'd write more but I'm off to work at the purgatory soon! Have a good rest of your day.

  9. Jess - Thanks:) Yes, google it! I have really enjoyed taking the classes.

Lisa - Thank you! We have a lot of fun with the photos (although it does make me uncomfortable when people walk by and stare). It will be nice for me to be able to see the progress we make by looking back at my blog posts. Hope work goes by quickly!
