I took today off, so we decided to take a trip to the coast! We visited Depoe Bay to go whale watching. The last time we were there, we saw quite a few whales. We were able to hang out on the rocks and just watch the whales, which were feeding very close to the cliffs, for hours. It was amazing getting to see them up close! This time, the water was very choppy/turbulent so the whales were too far out to see. We still had a great time exploring the cliffs and checking out the tiny little main street. I also got to practice using my new camera and experiment with different shots. The one of Ben (below) is one of my favorites from today.
Have a fabulous weekend!
How Beautiful Kristen, I hope we get to see the whales one day. What beautiful pictures. Made my heart smile :) Thank You. You and Ben and your pups have a great weekend too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gabby! I had a lot of fun playing around with my new camera:)

That is a fantastic picture! What a dramatic location...oh I miss the coast!
ReplyDeleteOh so gorgeous...I can almost smell the ocean, if I didn't have allergies, that is...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs! Whale watching sounds like so much fun. And that last picture is breathtaking. I can't wait to see more of your picture adventures! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous bay! I'm jealous of your day off, it looks so peaceful there. Is that a scarf peeking out from your jacket? I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteThat second shot is stunning! I'm glad that you're starting to find your sea legs (so to speak) when it comes to your new camera. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Gorgeous! The Ocean looks looks mighty and intimidating. I hope Ben was keeping a healthy distance from the cliff edge. A very inspiring photo.
ReplyDeleteI also noted that the opposite shore is shaped like an alligator with it's nose into the water. Do you see that too?
How beautiful!! I adore these shots.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristin!
ReplyDeleteI'm just swinging by to say that I have finally had time to catch up on your blog and I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your photos. Keep up the good work. I'll be back soon!
Thanks so much ladies! I really appreciate all of the feedback, encouragement, and sweet comments!!!!
ReplyDeleteTerrie - You should definitely check out Depoe Bay if you can. I've heard that Oct/Nov and Mar/Apr are the best times to go. The first time we went, we actually did go out on a boat. It was fun, but I really prefer to watch them from the cliffs. We were much closer to them when we were on the cliffs and we could pretty much see their whole bodies! It was amazing. The boats are not allowed to get close to them, plus I got a bit sea sick on the boat.
Laura - I did not notice that before, but yes, it does look like an alligator! How funny!
Sweet Laundry - Thanks so much for stopping by:)
