The Bee's Knees

I am one exhausted girl! Ben started a new job this week and he has been getting up very early, which means I have been getting up very early. On Monday, he had to be at a training session at 7:00am. He set the alarm for 5:30! Ackkkkkkk! As some of you know, I am NOT a morning person. 5:30 is way too early for me to be waking up. After two early mornings, not sleeping well last night, and an intense spinning (cycling) class tonight, I am ready for bed:)

This outfit made me feel very springy! We stopped at a coffee shop near my office yesterday after work. We both needed some caffeine and I wanted to get some outfit shots. Since it was raining out, we decided to try some indoor shots. This coffee shop is super cozy and they have the best furniture! It was a bit crowded, so it felt weird doing a "photo shoot", but it ended up working out just fine.

Goodnight!

  4. I had no idea this was taken in a coffee shop - it looks more like a comfy home.
I love the colours of your outfit - very well coordinated!

  5. That's an adorable outfit! And yay for being mint/rust twins! I love how you have the shirt collar peeking out from the cardi. I think we wore a really similar outfit actually. :D Love it, and oh man the shoes! (Jealous!)

  6. I love the colors in this outfit! So pretty. Coffee shops are pretty much my favorite place to hang out, especially if there are books involved (bookstores/coffee shops are the BEST). I could spend hours there, as long as they have comfy chairs :)

  7. Loving the outfit. I give you so much credit for your photoshoot. I sometimes feel funny in my driveway taking a picture of myself. LOL. You do look very comfy in that chair by the window and I'd swear you had the whole place to yourself.

  8. I love your whole outfit! The print on your dress is really pretty and works well with that gorgeous cardi! But my fave has got to be your adorable and darling and elegant shoes! Good for you and your courage to take photos in a coffee shop! They turned out beautifully:)

  11. I love this outfit! You look great, super springy and bright. I love those shoes. You really have some of the best shoes! I was at jcrew a few weeks ago and I was this close to buying a jackie, I love the way you pair them with everything (but my disposable income was accidentally all spent at the bookstore) so I couldn't justify it.

  12. I really love this outfit. The colours are so unexpected, but they work well together. I love the vintage feel of that top, and the collar peeking out from the cardigan.

  13. Awe, you are adorable! I love the printed top with the soft cardigan. And, of course, the shoes are exquisite. Great photos!

  16. Oh, it is the worst when the BF has an early morning because he inadvertantly also gets me up and I can never get back to sleep, I so know what you mean!

  17. OMG I love the pattern and color of the shirt and skirt combo! The cardi tops it perfectly. Last year I was on super duper early sesssion in my school which meant waking up at 5:00-5:30am. It sucked so much! But on the bright side I got out of work at 2pm.

  18. I'm in love with this color combination. It's so pretty and fun! I'm not a morning person, either. I usually have to get up pretty early for classes and I feel like a zombie for at least an hour. But the worst part is having to get in bed by ten. It feels so wrong!

  21. Thank you so much beautiful ladies!!!! I appreciate each and every comment:)

Laura - I feel the same way. Even before Ben's new job started, it was dificult because he likes to go to bed super early (at 9:30ish) and get up super early and I am the total opposite. We will make it work, somehow!

Steph - Yes, I/we are making progress! I love it! I haven't taken any classes yet, but we picked up some books from the library about photography (they have been really helpful) and so far, so good!

Minnesota Maven - Books are good too:) Maybe next time you can go for the Jackie. You will LOVE it!

Loraine - Thank you! He is really excited about it and it seems to be going well so far.

Mich - Tell me about it! Even when I'm super tired, I get a "second wind" around 9:30 or 10:00. On the weekends, I'm usually up cleaning house, reading, watching movies, etc. until 1:00 or 2:00.

Katie - Thanks you so much!!! How exciting! You are too sweet:)

  22. This is such a beautiful outfit and the photos really capure what must have been the atmosphere in the shop at the time. Lovely. And those shoes! Wow! May I say I haven't seen shoes that gorgeous in a long time? And I'm not even a shoe person! :)

  23. Lovely styling of Bee's Favorite Blouse! I haven't worn it in awhile, I think it's about time to pull it out for spring!

  25. Hello, Fellow Oregon Blogger!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and commenting. I really appreciate it.

I also really appreciate this outfit - amazing use of spring-y color and those shoes are to die for. I don't suppose there is any chance they are a size 10 AND you'd let me borrow them?

    Thanks again for stopping by.

  28. Ugh. 5:30 am is waaaayyyy too early to be waking up!
It's fitting that this cardigan is called Jackie because you look very Jackie O in this outfit. Beautiful. I love these shoes. All of you girls in your cute little shoes are making me realize that I really need to focus on my shoe collection this season :)

  29. Lovely! That shirt brightened my day. I hate waking up early as well. My boyfriend wakes up really really early everyday and I hate it. ughh. Good luck with the transition to earlier mornings! xoxo

  30. Cute! I would have been jealous of your outfit if I had seen you at the coffee shop, though. I would have been wearing something totally lame compared to this getup!

  31. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Sweet Laundry - Tell me about it! If I could, I would sleep in until 11:00 every day (like I did today:). I feel like shoes can really "make or break" an outfit. Have fun adding to your collection!

TrophyBoutique - I don't think you own any lame outfits!

  32. Perfection! I completely love this whole outfit - the color combo, the mixing of black and brown - just beautiful!
