Have you all checked out all of the wonderful photos that were submitted for Tara's photo challenge over at Little Girl Big Closet? If not, go have a look! Tara's blog is full of inspiration and beauty and this post is no exception. I would like to extend a big thanks to Tara for including me:)
I put this outfit together last week for Molly's color inspiration challenge. This was a tough one! Thanks for challenging me, Molly! I wanted to use this terrarium, but I kept thinking that the colors were too boring. For some reason, I kept going back to it and once I remembered this skirt, I knew it could work. This beautiful fox necklace was the icing on the cake:) I won this necklace quite some time ago over at Have a Cute Day. Isn't it beautiful? It's hard to tell, but the charm is a tiny goose. Go check out the color inspiration posts at Anthromollogies - part 1 here and part 2 here.
Top: Calvin Klein

ps - all of those little spots on my cardi/glasses are rain drops:)
Aww, How Pretty! You know me. Love Green :) The necklace is so adorable. I really like your J Crew Jackie Cardigan (beautiful Green)you did great with the color inspirations. And am loving that tree in the background. It's beautiful. Again, You did awesome :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just noticed....The little cactus looks just like the tree behind you!! Same shape almost...Too cool :)
ReplyDeleteHi Gabby! Thanks so much! As you know, the Jackie's are a staple in my wardrobe:) I have had this green one for years and I wear it often.
ReplyDeleteI love the little terrarium and the green cardi! It's my favorite color. Great job with the color inspiration photos!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit, and I love green! :D That cardigan goes perfectly with the skirt. I loved all of Molly's submissions, but especially yours!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I love your little terrarium. It's adorable. You played the colors perfectly in your outfit too. I like it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun challenge! Your whole ensemble is perfect, I love the bright green cardigan with the skirt, it really brightens it up.
ReplyDeleteAnd your terrariums are so cool- I'm surprised to see succulents doing well under the cloudy Portland sky (do you put them under a lamp?)
I love your outfit and your inspiration! That skirt is perfect! Because of you and your love of the Jackie Cardigan I'm planning on picking up a rainbow collection in the next couple of months. They seem to perfectly go with everything! I'm a cardiaholic and have been searching for the perfect cardi's.
ReplyDeleteGreen looks fantastic on you!
Jenn - Thank you!
ReplyDeleteKatie - Thanks:) Molly's challenge was a lot of fun. It was great to see what everyone drew inspiration from.
Betty Ray - Thanks! I have a few different terrariums around the house, but this one had the most vibrant colors.
Steph - Thank you! We don't use a lamp - they just hang out by the kitchen window where they get a little light (on some days:) and they get watered pretty rarely. We have had a few of them for years and they seem to be thriving.
Minnesota Maven - Thanks! I'm so glad you are going to give the Jackie cardigans a try:) Definitely check in-store (if you are close to one) because they had a few colors on sale last week that were still full price on line. I can't wait to see what colors you get!
What a great way to get inspired! I'll have to check out Anthromollogies to see the fashionable bloggers take inspiration from unlikely sources. This is genius that you were able to find inspiration from you terrarium (cool terrarium too!). I love this look! I'm really sorry that I let this skirt get away. It's gorgeous and seems versatile.
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmie! Thank you! Definitely check out Anthromollogies:) You will find lots of color inspiration there. Hope you are having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreen oh I love it! And that necklace is a gem! I love your style. I am a little jealous of where you live! :) I love my home but the desert is toooo hot.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth! Thank you! It is really beautiful here:) I like visiting the desert, but I don't know that I could live there. I love having trees/green/plants all around. Hope you weekend was great!
ReplyDeleteGood choice, the terrarium made for a great photo prop! What a fun challenge, I would have been completely stumped.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ana!
