Instagram

I am still getting my wedding pictures together. We've had some camera/picture issues to deal with - my film camera malfunctioned, so the 3 rolls of film I took were totally blank, the person that took pictures with my digital camera during the ceremony did not really know how to use it, so most of those pictures are blurry, and the person that was assigned to be our "photographer" for the night also had a camera problems. So, I'm still rounding up pictures that other people took, editing the ones that we do have, and trying to get a decent little collection together.

Part of me wishes we had hired a professional photographer, but I have to remind myself that that is not what we wanted. I am not a fan of spending hours standing around posing with various family members and different combinations of people, while everyone else enjoys the event. I wanted to be there experiencing the wedding/party, not posing for awkward pictures the whole time (I do realize that there are many wonderful photographers out there that take beautiful, non-awkward wedding photos, but that option wasn't readily available to us in this tiny NC town). So, all of that to say that I will have more wedding pictures to show you very soon!!!

In other news, I am loving instagram right now (instagram is an iphone app that allows you to edit and share photos - it's way more fun than its sounds:). If you enjoy instagram too, follow me! You can find me by searching for my username, kristin_fm. For those of you who don't follow me, I thought it would be fun to show off some of my instagram photos from the past week. I may make this a weekly (or biweekly) feature.

We visited the pumpkin patch last weekend with friends. I LOVE going to the pumpkin patch!

I never leave the pumpkin patch without a caramel apple:)

Love is Sweet

I'm back......and married!!!

The wedding was absolutely wonderful. It was in the mountains of western NC on a beautiful, crisp fall day (the peak weekend for fall foliage color). Our ceremony was outside, right in front of a river. It was perfect.

I have a lot to share, but I thought I would start with the most important part, the dessert bar. Just kidding! Dessert is far from the most important thing, but I'm still weeding through the pictures of Ben and I, so I will start with dessert and go from there. I can't wait to show you our outfits and some other pictures from our ceremony and party!

Mmmmmmmmmmm:)

Ben's sister made these cupcake toppers for us. She stained them with coffee and stamped each little letter herself. Aren't they adorable?

Cake balls! We had red velvet, almond, and chocolate peanut-butter cake balls. They were delicious and a huge hit! I think every single one got eaten. These yellow ones were somewhat inspired by the cake balls anthropologie posted on their instagram feed.

Perspective

What a day! With my wedding coming up next week, I am starting to feel the pressure. Today has been a stressful day because I discovered that a few things I thought were taken care of, are not, in fact, taken care of. It feels like everything is falling apart. That is not true, it just feels like it today. It's been everything from my hair dresser auditioning for American Idol and then very suddenly quitting his job (I guess that means his audition went well? - Still, not what I want to hear a couple of days before he is supposed to do my hair.), to the hair piece/veil I have been waiting weeks for not working out (so now I have very little time to come up with an alternative), to our free chair supply falling through, to a cheese bar disaster.

I got dramatic and had a little bit of a breakdown tonight, which is not how I wanted this to go. I purposefully planned a very laid back, relaxed, fun BBQ/Party because I do not want to be the super stressed out, crazy, intense bride. I want to truly enjoy the day and have fun! I am learning that planning an event from across the country, no matter how laid back it is meant to be, is hard.

I will take a deep breath, cuddle with my dogs, get a good nights sleep, and wake up refreshed with a little bit of a better perspective tomorrow!

I love this dress! The color, the texture, the details - love them all. There is nothing like a beautiful dress and an awesome pair of shoes to make a hard day a little better:)

Mugs

I love the Homegrown Monogram Mugs at Anthropologie right now. The colors are so nice and the prints are super pretty.

I decided to get a bit creative with the mugs. Take a close look -

Yep, I have a nice big curse word on display in my kitchen! I love the contrast between the bright, happy, cheerful colors/prints and the subtle letters that spell out a profanity. I think it adds a bit of an unexpected edge to my kitchen and it makes me smile.

I have recently been intrigued by curse words in unexpected places, like these amazing swear rings, as seen on Fashion for Nerds, or this beautiful embroidery.

I hope you all have had a f@*&ing wonderful weekend:)
