Verdant

Happy Saturday! I hope you all are well. I've had quite a busy week, but I'm happy because the weekend is finally here, the sun is shining, and my brother is doing great! He had a rough few days earlier in the week, but seems to be doing really well today. He had a skin graft surgery on Tuesday and another surgery on Thursday. I won't go into too much detail, but the skin graft surgery ended up being more intense than they originally thought (they had to take more skin than expected). So, as you can imagine, he was in terrible pain afterwards and wasn't able to move around, etc. He has gotten a little bit better each day, and seems to be feeling great today!

I spent Wednesday and Thursday in Denver, Colorado. I was there on business, and only had a few hours to walk around/explore. I have to say, it wasn't a very pleasant experience. I have been to Colorado before on vacation, camping in the Rocky Mountains, and I absolutely loved it. It was gorgeous, green, and vibrant. Denver, not so much! I'm sure it was just because I was in a crappy part of town or something and really didn't have time to figure out where to go (I just started walking). Anyways, I was very happy to get back to Oregon on Thursday night!

Last Saturday, Ben and I drove out to Joy Creek Nursery to find some plants for our front yard. I think the Verdant Slip dress fit right in:)

  2. I just got the Verdant Slip Dress and I love it so much! I really like your styling, very nice play of unexpected colors, as usual. I also wanted to say thanks for posting your beautiful pictures/stylings of the J. Crew Tea Stained Dobby dress, it's thanks to reading your blog that I decided to give it a try and it is a total winner (wish it were a bit longer, but it's fantastic otherwise). Enjoy the weather and being back home after a so-so trip - I know the feeling! (I live in Portland too, I'm loving the sun today!)

  3. I'm glad your brother is feeling better, I hope his recovery continues smoothly. Stunning pictures, as usual. These remind me of Alice walking through the gardens in Wonderland. This dress is so lovely on you, but I wish it wasn't. Everybody needs to stop tempting me to buy this dress!

  13. This is a perfect location for the Verdant Slip Dress. Gorgeous detailed flower shots. If only I could do so well with my SLR.

And of course the Jackie Cardigan is perfection.

Those shoes are The Flaxen Wedges. My photographer was wearing those with her Take Action Dress. Thus I remember them, because I have been longing for a pair myself.

Thoughts and Prayers for your Brother.

I love how your paired this light and pastel-toned dress with darker tights. The contrast is great -- and those shoes really complete the outfit.

  28. Oh so happy to hear that your bro is doing well, even though he still has a long road of recovery ahead of him. I know it is such a relief to you to know that he will be okay in the end.

LOVE this dress on you! I ordered it knowing it was on backorder so I could have time to decide if I really want it, hehe. I'm usually not a fan of spaghetti straps AT ALL, but the reviews are pretty much 100% positive, so it can't be all bad, right?
