Coin Purse

Clearly, my indoor/low light photography could use some work. During the week, it is pretty much impossible to take OOTD shots because it gets dark here at 4:30pm. Mornings are not an option because I am usually still snoozing away when Ben leaves for work. We tried some shots with the flash, but they were terrible! We experimented for a bit, but ended up mainly using the light from our little Christmas tree. I will have to get something figured out, because our winters are very long here in Oregon:)

This is what I wore on Friday, for "jeans day" at work:

Top: Anthropologie Eastpointe Garden top
Cardigan: Anthropologie Coin Purse Cardigan (Liamolly)
Jeans: Pilcro
Shoes: Anthropologie Bouquet of Roses heels

As you know, we decided to do a few "minor" home improvement projects in our bathroom. We painted a couple of weeks ago, put in a new tile floor last weekend (and yes, after 3 days with no toilet, I really, really appreciate having a toilet again!), and here is the situation as of today:

Ummmm, that's right, an entire wall is now missing! I'm not sure how we got to this point (it started off with trying to install a new sink, which led us to realize that the drain pipe is not really in the right location, which led us to realize that nothing is really in the right location, which led us to realize that whomever installed that last sink did a really poor job and left ugly, crappy "patched up" holes everywhere), but Ben assures me that is is "no big deal" and that we will have a wonderful, beautiful, new bathroom in no time! I'm not quite convinced. I know it will turn out great, but I'm not so sure it will be as easy as Ben thinks. I think he is just trying to keep me from freaking out at this point. Wish us luck!

Glasses

Here is my outfit from yesterday, much inspired by this post over at Vintageglammz.

Top: Anthropologie Eastpointe Garden top
Cardi: J. Crew
Skirt: Anthropologie
Tights: Hue

Shoes: Dansko

I had a bit of a glasses disaster yesterday. As I was taking off my glasses to go to bed on Monday night, one of the arms completely broke off (as in the metal holding the hinge together broke in two). Not a big deal, right? Well, when you have no back up pair, and you cannot see 3 feet in front of you without the glasses, it is pretty much disastrous. I got up yesterday morning and pretty much held my glasses on my face so that I could get to my optometrist's office. They unfortunately could not fix them, but did tell me about a glasses repair shop that I could try. Once the glasses repair shop opened, I drove myself all the way across town to see if they could help. Yes, they informed me that my glasses could easily be fixed and that it would take about 14 hours, so I could just pick them up the next day. That is all fine and good, except HOW AM I GOING TO GET HOME? Without my glasses, I pretty much can't even see how to get out the door, much less drive a car! After a long discussion, I found out that the actual repair takes 2 to 3 hours and the rest of the time is just for the material to dry/set up. So, I talked them into doing the repair and letting me take the glasses with me so that they could dry/set up at home. Poor Ben had to ride his bike all the way across town in the pouring rain, so that he could drive me home (I was thinking that I was not going to be able to wear the glasses immediately). We waited for about 3 hours and then my glasses were fixed! They said that the repair went well and that they were dry/set enough for me to wear right away! I have never been so happy to put my glasses on! After going most of the day without being able to see, I realized just how much I love and appreciate my glasses!

ps - I will be getting a back-up pair ASAP:)

After-hours party at anthropologie!!!!!!!

I had a wonderful time last night at an after-hours party at my local anthropologie. My friend Alicia, from likelybadger, hosted/organized the event. I arrived to a lovely set up of champagne, cupcakes, and other goodies. Alicia and one of the anthro SA's had a rack of outfits picked out to showcase. I really liked the way they had the outfits organized. They had a few different categories outlined (modern, 70's, and 60's) and a few outfits for each category to show as examples. After that, we all walked around the store and picked out things to try on. Alicia, along with a few SA's, were there to help pick out outfits, give suggestions, offer styling tips, etc. I had a blast! I also had the chance to meet Farmer Jo! How exciting!

Yummy!

This is what I wore to the event. All of the full-body shots were super blurry, so this is the best I could do. You get the point though:) I love the marine mural dress (even in winter)!

I tried on quite a few beautiful things at the party. This top (the Eastpoint Garden Top) was one of my favorites. The color is gorgeous! Definitely size down (I sized down 2 sizes).

I loved it so much, I wore it today!

After trying on so many gorgeous items last night, these two are now at the very top of my wishlist: The Back Porch Blouse and the Take Action Dress.

Happy Friday!
